SUPPORT MATRIX

Major Platforms Access Support Matrix

The regions listed are common entry points within our route coverage for platform selection. Support means the region can currently be used as a connection target; it does not mean platform libraries or detection rules will remain fixed.

Platform Recommended regions Support status Recommended route Selection notes
Netflix Japan / United States / Germany Supported; retest by library IEPL Dedicated Choose a region based on the target library first. If the homepage content does not change, reconnect and check the exit region.
Disney+ Singapore / Hong Kong / United States Supported; retest by region Relay Account region, exit region and app cache can all affect the catalog. Reopen the app after switching routes.
HBO Max United States Supported; platform policies may change IEPL Dedicated Keep the same exit during sign-in and playback whenever possible, and avoid frequent region changes while connected.
Hulu United States Supported; account conditions apply IEPL Dedicated Access results also depend on account details and the platform's own rules, not just the network exit.
YouTube Premium Japan / Singapore / Hong Kong / United States / Germany Supported; account entitlements apply Direct or Relay For standard playback, start with a nearby region. Account entitlements and displayed pricing are determined by platform rules.
Prime Video Japan / United States / Germany Supported; retest by content Relay or IEPL Dedicated Visible content for the same account may be affected by the account region, licensing territory and current exit.
BBC iPlayer United Kingdom Supported; platform rules may change Relay Connect to a UK exit before opening the page, and make sure the browser is not keeping an old session from another region.

What does access actually change?

Streaming regions are not determined simply by whether a webpage opens. Platforms typically consider the country or region of the current exit IP, account registration region, payment details, browser language, app-store region and previous login sessions when deciding which catalog to show. A network route changes only the connection exit; it cannot replace the platform requirements that the account itself must meet.

So “the page opens,” “sign-in works,” “the target title appears in search,” and “playback is stable” are different stages. Opening the page confirms basic connectivity; a catalog change means the platform accepted the current regional signal; once playback starts, licensing checks, media-segment requests and sustained transfer still follow. Separating these stages usually makes troubleshooting easier than broadly saying that a platform does not work.

Another common misconception is treating the platform homepage language as its catalog region. Interface language may follow account preferences or browser settings, while the catalog depends more on licensing territory and exit detection. If the language does not change after switching routes, that alone does not prove the switch failed. A better check is to verify the exit region and search for content available only in the target catalog.

Native IPs vs. Residential IPs

NATIVE ROUTE

Native IP

“Native” usually means the IP registration location matches the actual exit region. This makes its geographic signal more direct for streaming region checks, but native does not automatically mean residential, nor does it guarantee passing every platform check.

RESIDENTIAL ROUTE

Residential IP

“Residential” usually refers to a network whose ownership is closer to a local household access network. Some platforms may accept these networks more readily, but results still depend on account status, platform policies and how the exit is being used.

These terms describe different dimensions: native emphasizes geographic registration, while residential emphasizes network ownership. A route may meet one definition, both or neither. When choosing a route, look beyond the label and check whether the target platform shows the correct region, starts playback and remains stable.

VPNHJ's route system includes Direct, Relay and IEPL Dedicated routes. Route type describes link topology, not IP type. IEPL Dedicated is mainly used to improve stability across international segments; whether the final exit suits a platform still depends on the actual result after connection.

What 4K and Dolby Vision require

4K playback requires more than a peak speed test result. Streaming services continuously fetch segments and adjust quality dynamically, so sustained throughput, jitter, packet loss and congestion matter most. A route with a high but unstable peak may keep dropping quality; a moderately fast but steady route is often better for maintaining HD playback.

Dolby Vision also depends on the content source, account plan, playback device, display, app version and connection method. A route handles network transmission only; it cannot give Dolby Vision capability to unsupported hardware. If the platform details page does not show the relevant badge, check the source and device support before checking the network exit.

Before playback, close large file syncs, system updates and other high-bandwidth tasks. Even with unlimited devices on one account, all devices still share the current network environment and plan data. If several devices stream high-quality video at once, choose a monthly plan or a never-expiring data package based on actual usage.

Choose a route by playback stage

Direct: verify region and basic access first

Direct paths are shorter, making them suitable for checking whether the target platform opens, the account can sign in and the exit region is correct. If the local path to the target exit is stable, Direct can also handle everyday playback. Its weakness is that the international segment is more exposed to local network fluctuations, so evening performance may vary with carrier routing.

Relay: handle path fluctuations

Relay routes enter an intermediate node before reaching the target exit. Their value is not eliminating physical distance, but avoiding an unstable direct path. When Direct identifies the library but playback buffers frequently, compare Relay routes in the same region. Change only the route; do not modify account or app settings at the same time, or it will be difficult to identify what made the difference.

IEPL Dedicated: prioritize sustained transfer

IEPL Dedicated routes suit scenarios that require more consistent continuous playback. Their international path is more controlled and is generally better for extended high-quality viewing. A dedicated route is not a universal fix: if the platform rejects the final exit IP, even excellent route quality cannot replace an acceptable exit. In that case, switch to another node in the same region.

How to read common error codes and messages

Different devices and app versions may show different error codes, and the same issue can appear under different wording. Rather than memorizing one code, classify the issue by where it occurs first. The most common message types and their troubleshooting order are listed below.

“This region is unavailable”

This usually means the exit region detected by the platform does not match the content licensing territory. Confirm that you are connected to the target region, then close and reopen the platform app. If the message remains, switch to another exit route in the same region.

“Proxy or network tool detected”

The platform may not accept the current exit. Do not keep refreshing the same route; use another route in the same region and clear the old session. If you are signed in on both a browser and an app, keep the exit region consistent on both.

“Content is temporarily unavailable”

If the catalog is visible but playback fails, the issue may occur during media requests. Check that the route is still connected and the system time is correct, then compare Direct, Relay and IEPL Dedicated. You can also lower the quality to test whether basic transfer is stable.

“Account region mismatch”

A network exit can change the access location, but it cannot rewrite platform account details. For this message, check the platform account, payment details and app-store region first instead of repeatedly switching routes.

Returned to the homepage repeatedly after signing in

Common causes include a change in exit region before or after sign-in, or an old regional session retained by the browser. Keep the route unchanged, clear that platform's site data and sign in again. Do not clear data from unrelated websites.

Playback works but quality keeps dropping

This points more to throughput fluctuations than failed region detection. Stop other traffic first, then switch to a Relay or IEPL Dedicated route in the same region. If the catalog changes after switching exits, return to the original region and continue comparing routes.

A reproducible troubleshooting sequence

  1. Identify the target content and region

First determine which platform and region the content belongs to. Do not simply say “watch international video,” because the same platform may show different catalogs in Japan, the United States and Germany.

  2. Connect to the matching regional exit

For the first test, choose a route with a simple path. After connecting, confirm the exit region before opening the platform. Keep the same route before and after signing in to avoid changing regions mid-session.

  3. Verify the catalog and playback separately

First check whether the target content appears in search, then start playback. If the catalog is wrong, troubleshoot region detection; if the catalog is correct but playback fails, troubleshoot route stability. Keep these two issues separate.

  4. Change only one variable

After switching to another route in the same region, leave other settings unchanged. If you change the route, clear the cache and edit account details at once, you will not know which action solved the problem. Network troubleshooting works best one step at a time; otherwise the logs go quiet too.

  5. Record working combinations

Once a combination works, note the platform, region, route type and device. When platform rules change, you can retest from a known combination instead of randomly trying every exit again.

Account, device and data boundaries

VPNHJ supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux and allows use on unlimited devices. After signing in, get the client and subscription from the user panel. Streaming apps on different devices may retain separate regional caches, so playback working on a computer while the TV remains unchanged does not necessarily mean the route has failed.

No email address is required to create an account; a username and password are enough. Store your login details and subscription access securely. If you have several household devices, verify the platform on one device first, then copy the same region and route choice to the others to reduce variables.

Monthly plans include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB and ¥28/month with 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date, and mid-cycle upgrades are prorated by remaining days. Data packages include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB and ¥658/3000GB; they last until used and never expire. Actual high-quality video usage depends on platform encoding, content length, resolution and device policies. VPNHJ does not replace the platform's usage record with a single estimate.

Payment methods are Alipay / WeChat / USDT. All plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee. Choose based on your usual platforms, viewing frequency and data history rather than judging only by whether one playback attempt succeeds.
